About the position

The Assistant Manager, Ops, RSR at Amazon is responsible for leading a team in a fast-paced operational environment. This role focuses on ensuring safety, quality, and productivity while meeting customer delivery expectations. The Assistant Manager will engage and motivate team members during their shifts, manage operational workflows, and collaborate with various support teams to achieve business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Support, mentor, and motivate team members during shifts.
• Manage safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery promises.
• Collaborate with support teams including Safety, Ops Integration, Loss Prevention, and Human Resources to develop plans to meet business objectives.
• Lift up to 49 pounds and stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours.
• Work in varying noise levels and temperatures, including outside loading departments and refrigerated environments.
• Work a flexible schedule, including weekends and/or overnight shifts.

Requirements

• High School or equivalent diploma.
• 6+ months of leadership experience in a retail, distribution, or similar environment.
• At least 1 year of experience working with computers and Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Word, and Excel).
• Ability to lift up to 49 pounds and stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours.
• Availability to work 40 hours/week and overtime as required.
• Ability to work flexible schedules/shifts/areas, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience managing a team of 10+ employees or 1+ year of experience directly managing others.
• Experience with process improvements (Lean Six Sigma and/or Kaizen).
• Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, or a related field.
