About the position

The Assistant Manager, Ops, RSR at Amazon is responsible for leading a team in a fast-paced operational environment. This role focuses on maintaining safety, quality, and performance standards while ensuring customer delivery promises are met. The Assistant Manager will engage and motivate team members during their shifts, collaborate with various support teams, and manage workflow across different operational components.

Responsibilities

• Support, mentor, and motivate team members during shifts.
• Manage safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery promises.
• Collaborate with support teams including Safety, Ops Integration, Loss Prevention, and Human Resources to meet business objectives.
• Lift up to 49 pounds and stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours.
• Work in varying noise levels and temperatures, including outdoor loading areas and refrigerated environments.
• Work a flexible schedule, including weekends and overnight shifts.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 6+ months of leadership experience in a retail, distribution, or similar environment.
• At least 1 year of experience working with computers and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Ability to lift up to 49 pounds and stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours.
• Availability to work 40 hours/week and overtime as required.
• Flexibility to work various schedules, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience managing a team of 10+ employees or 1+ year of experience directly managing others.
• Experience with process improvements (Lean Six Sigma and/or Kaizen).
• Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, or a related field.
