About the position

The Assistant Manager of the Pre-Roll Department plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of pre-roll production. This position assists the Department Manager in ensuring efficient production, maintaining high-quality standards, and adhering to strict regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with a strong understanding of pre-roll manufacturing processes and a commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Director of Processing and Director of Ops to create and adhere to monthly production plans
  • Ensure that cones, packaging and staffing are sufficient to meet production plans
  • Fully trained on pre-roll equipment; able to fill in as operator in production
  • Eye to quality to ensure that products produced meet quality standards
  • Maintain relationship and consistent communication with 3rd party partners
  • Motivate operators and packaging team to achieve production plan targets
  • Maintain time trial data to predict staffing and material needs for future production
  • Training and teaching to Pre-Roll team
  • Maintain accurate records of all production, batch details, and daily documentation
  • Use METRC for data tracking and management
  • Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure consistent product quality
  • Conduct regular inspections of pre-rolls to verify compliance with established standards
  • Maintain accurate records of production, quality control, and inventory
  • Ensure strict adherence to all state and local cannabis regulations, including tracking and tracing requirements
  • Assist in preparing for and responding to regulatory inspections
  • Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to pre-roll department staff
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members
  • Assist in resolving employee conflicts and addressing performance issues
  • Enforce company policies and procedures
  • Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, packaging supplies, and finished products
  • Coordinate with procurement and inventory control teams to ensure timely replenishment of supplies
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular inventory audits
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of pre-roll machines and other production equipment
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and implement corrective actions
  • Coordinate with maintenance personnel to schedule preventive maintenance
  • Enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe work environment
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with sanitation guidelines
  • Ensure proper handling and disposal of cannabis waste

Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in cannabis pre-roll production or a similar manufacturing environment
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role
  • Strong understanding of pre-roll manufacturing processes and equipment
  • Knowledge of state and local cannabis regulations
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and regulated environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and inventory management software
  • Must be able to pass any required background checks
