About the position

The Assistant Manager, Product Development & Packaging at Half Magic Beauty is responsible for overseeing the product development process from concept to production, managing timelines for various SKUs, and supporting the Senior Director in daily operations. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong project management skills and a passion for color cosmetics, contributing to the brand's mission of creativity and self-expression through makeup.

Responsibilities

• Lead all stages of the Product Development process from conception and briefing to launch for limited-edition and holiday sets, shade extension and sampling SKUs.
• Provide general support to Senior Director of Product Development and Packaging, reporting project status during weekly NPD meetings.
• Research and evaluate new and best-selling competitive products to guide product positioning.
• Create product competitive analyses and strong visual decks to support PD launch strategy.
• Conduct in-house product testing surveys and gather feedback to inform development direction.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and implement solutions with the Senior Director.
• Track project milestones and communicate shifts in the development timeline with vendors and Operations team.
• Evaluate batch submissions for color products and relay feedback to suppliers for a seamless manufacturing process.
• Attend supplier meetings and share relevant notes to ensure clear project status recaps.
• Maintain accurate product information files and oversee testing status throughout the development process.
• Manage and organize product samples and prepare comps for internal and retailer meetings.
• Assist in gathering and tracking regulatory documents for compliance efforts.
• Send and receive packages as needed.
• Manage and oversee package development for relevant NPD projects/SKUs, including artwork compilation and approval process.

Requirements

• 2-4 years of Product Development experience, with packaging experience preferred but not required.
• Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
