About the position

The Assistant Manager, Product Operations at Gap plays a crucial role in driving sales growth and enhancing customer experience in the store. This position involves managing product operations, merchandising, and talent development while collaborating with the General Manager to achieve performance goals. The Assistant Manager is responsible for setting the tone for the store, coaching team members, and ensuring compliance with operational standards.

Responsibilities

  • Support strategies and processes to drive store sales and deliver results through a customer centric mindset.
  • Recruit, hire and develop highly productive Brand Associate and Expert teams.
  • Own assigned area of responsibility.
  • Implement action plans to maximize efficiencies and productivity.
  • Perform Service Leader duties.
  • Ensure consistent execution of standard operating procedures.
  • Represent the brand and understand the competition and retail landscape.
  • Promote community involvement.
  • Leverage omni-channel to deliver a frictionless customer experience.
  • Ensure all compliance standards are met.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of retail management experience.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Good communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members.
  • Passionate about retail and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Driven by metrics to deliver results to meet business goals.
  • Ability to lead and inspire others through coaching and mentoring.
  • Flexible schedule availability, including holidays, evenings, overnight, and weekend shifts.
  • Ability to utilize retail technology.
  • Ability to maneuver around the sales floor, stockroom, and office and lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to travel as required.
