About the position

The Assistant Manager of Program Delivery at the Museum of Science and Curiosity (MOSAC) is responsible for leading and developing teams that engage with the public through various educational programs. This role involves overseeing the hiring, training, and scheduling of staff, ensuring positive guest experiences, and managing daily operations within the education department. The Assistant Manager will collaborate with other managers and staff to maintain high standards of customer service and safety while fostering a passion for science communication and informal education.

Responsibilities

• Support the hiring, training, mentorship, and daily supervision of Program Delivery and scheduling team members.
• Oversee education programs including field trips, theater presentations, stage shows, and exhibit experiences.
• Manage daily, weekly, and monthly program and staffing schedules.
• Manage the annual staffing budget, including overseeing staff timecards and time-off requests.
• Act as 'Manager on Duty' to respond to guest questions, concerns, or emergencies on the floor.
• Collaborate with other Senior Experiences staff and MOSAC managers on guest experience standards and practices.
• Contribute to various committees as a member of the museum staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 1 year experience with visitor-focused programs in an informal learning environment.
• Minimum 1 year in a leadership role including hiring, training, scheduling, and management.
• Excellent management skills in a dynamic program environment.
• Strong verbal, presentation, and written communication skills.
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to make decisions in the moment.
