About the position

The Assistant Manager - Retail Office position at Peoples Bank involves supporting the Branch Manager in overseeing daily operations and ensuring exceptional customer service. The role focuses on developing staff, maintaining operational standards, and achieving sales goals while fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with overseeing the day to day operations/activities of the branch.
  • Leads by example through consistently achieving sales results and coaching the PEBO way.
  • Maintains a position of trust and responsibility by keeping all client's business confidential.
  • Ensures branch associates remain effective, sound and engaged, both from an operations and sales perspective.
  • Assists in finding and developing high quality staff.
  • Establishes, maintains, and grows working relationships with partners.
  • Continues building on and maintaining world class service levels.
  • Pro-actively meets the clients financial needs through our sales process.
  • Follows operational standards regarding security, risk management, and compliance.
  • Conducts structured coaching sessions to provide balanced feedback with actionable items that ensure individual and branch success.
  • Attracts new relationships and retains and expands existing relationships.
  • Acts as a decision maker with well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • Responds to customer concerns with unfailing follow-up and fulfilling their needs and concerns.
  • Develops and retains the customer base, greeting by/use name, having knowledge of account ownership, and being responsive and timely with correspondence and problem resolution.
  • Acquires, uses, and maintains consumer and business lending product knowledge and abilities to generate and execute loans, lines and deposit products.
  • Initiates conversations to uncover customer needs to effectively refer customers to business partners for selling and cross-selling bank products and services.
  • Completes required training for all bank and branch policies and procedures.
  • Interprets documents such as safety rules, account documents, operating and maintenance instructions, consumer and business loan documents and procedure manuals.
  • Defines and offers solutions to resolve problems using knowledge of the organization to identify helpful resources.
  • Makes calls via phone or zoom to clients and/or prospects on a weekly basis to meet calling goals of the branch while recording those calls in the P1 system.
  • Interprets data to evaluate for acceptable lending ratios and product and service opportunities.
  • Consistently meets sales goals.
  • Performs special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior job experience with extensive customer contact is required.
  • Strong leadership skills and great organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication, problem solving, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to convey bank strategy and technique via the Peoples Coaching Model.
  • Flexibility to be a team player with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with partners at their location and via telephone.
  • Self-motivated and assertive with an ability to perform well in a sales environment.
  • Ability to turn service encounters into dialogue based meetings where other needs can be uncovered.
  • Ability to pass background and credit standards to hold NMLS credentials.
  • Trustworthy and confidential behavior is essential in this role.
  • Ability to learn computer and mobile device applications quickly.
  • Valid Driver's license and reliable transportation.
