About the position

The Assistant Manager in Rural Super Rural (RSR) Operations at Amazon is responsible for leading a team to ensure the highest levels of safety, quality, and performance in package delivery. This role involves mentoring team members, collaborating with support teams, and maintaining customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment. The position requires flexibility in working hours, particularly overnight shifts, and involves physical demands such as lifting and standing for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Lead and engage your team to maintain safety, quality, attendance, and performance standards.
• Ensure timely delivery of customer orders to the correct locations.
• Support, mentor, and motivate team members.
• Collaborate with support teams to achieve business objectives.
• Manage safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery promises.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 6+ months of leadership experience in a retail, distribution, or similar environment.
• Ability to work 40 hours/week, including overtime as required.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• 1+ year of experience with computers and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Ability to lift up to 49 pounds and stand/walk for shifts lasting up to 12 hours.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, or a related field.
• Experience managing a team of 10+ employees or 1+ year of direct management experience.
• Experience with process improvements (Lean Six Sigma and/or Kaizen).
• Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
