About the position

The Assistant Manager at Jack in the Box is responsible for managing restaurant operations in conjunction with or in the absence of the Restaurant Manager. This role involves making daily management decisions, ensuring effective execution of the Service Profit Chain (SPC), and maintaining compliance with policies and regulations. The Assistant Manager focuses on providing excellent internal and external service, building restaurant sales and profit, and fostering a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage restaurant operations in conjunction with or in the absence of the Restaurant Manager.
  • Recruit, select, train, develop, and evaluate restaurant employees.
  • Monitor staffing levels to ensure sufficient development and talent.
  • Ensure effective execution of 'My Promise to You' and the Service Profit Chain.
  • Create a friendly, fun, clean, and safe restaurant environment.
  • Motivate and inspire employees to achieve high performance while adhering to company procedures.
  • Ensure guests receive an exceptional experience by training employees and holding the team accountable for service quality.
  • Maintain visibility and interaction with guests, responding to concerns and complaints.
  • Analyze restaurant operational and financial performance and develop action plans for improvement.
  • Monitor costs and adherence to budget and restaurant goals.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a Shift Leader or Assistant Manager in a customer service environment.
  • Must be ServSafe certified and complete Assistant Manager training classes.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write effectively in English.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to perform basic math concepts.
  • Proven analytical skills and good organization and planning skills.
  • Valid driver's license and insurance; must use personal vehicle for bank deposits and travel.
