The Assistant Shop Manager (ASM) at Take 5 Oil Change plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the shop while also performing technician duties. The ASM will be responsible for both hands-on technical work and assisting in the management of shop operations, creating a positive experience for customers and employees alike.

Responsibilities

• Perform all technician duties including oil changes, fluid inspections, and customer service tasks.
• Drain motor oil, change oil filters, and perform other light maintenance services.
• Assist customers in selecting oil types and services.
• Process payments for services performed.
• Maintain cleanliness of the shop, office, and bathroom areas.
• Restock and maintain inventory levels on the floor.
• Check in with customers to ensure satisfaction before they leave the shop.
• Ensure proper operation of the store in the absence of the Shop Manager.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Assist with counting and adjusting inventory.

Requirements

• Experience in a customer service role.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds and maneuvering in and out of a shallow pit.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
