About the position

As the Assistant Manager for Watches & Fine Jewelry at CHANEL's 57th Street Flagship, you will embody the brand's values and serve as a pivotal business leader and brand ambassador. Your primary focus will be on delivering extraordinary experiences for both our internal team and clients. This role is essential in driving the business within the Watches & Fine Jewelry category, where you will coach and manage a diverse team of salespeople while collaborating closely with the Boutique Director to impart critical business knowledge. You will take full ownership of the product category, ensuring that all aspects, from analysis and reporting to assortment planning, are executed with excellence. Your responsibilities will include spending time on the selling floor to coach and inspire your team, fostering a positive working environment that encourages diversity, mutual respect, and teamwork. You will provide initial and ongoing training for all team members, covering CHANEL savoir faire, product details, and service delivery. Additionally, you will represent CHANEL in the market, developing the client base through community involvement and partnerships with local high-profile businesses, as well as organizing social and seasonal events. Your role will require agility and resilience as you continuously improve based on key performance indicators and lessons learned, ensuring that the boutique meets its business objectives while delivering an elevated client experience.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a brand ambassador and business leader for the Watches & Fine Jewelry category.
  • Coach and manage a diverse team of salespeople to deliver extraordinary client experiences.
  • Collaborate closely with the Boutique Director to share critical business knowledge.
  • Drive all aspects of the assigned product category, including analysis, reporting, and assortment planning.
  • Foster a positive working environment that encourages diversity, mutual respect, and teamwork.
  • Provide initial and ongoing training for team members on product details and service delivery.
  • Develop the client base through community involvement and partnerships with local businesses.
  • Organize social and seasonal events to enhance brand presence in the market.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of related experience in retail or luxury goods.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Ability to lift 15 lbs.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in a team environment.
  • Understanding of and passion for client experience.
  • Curiosity and desire to learn and grow professionally within the world of CHANEL.

Nice-to-haves

  • Foreign language skills are preferred but not required.
