About the position

The Assistant Manager at Dairy Queen will play a crucial role in the effective operation of the restaurant, ensuring high standards of service and quality. This position involves assisting the General Manager in various aspects of restaurant management, including financial performance, product production, inventory management, personnel training, and marketing strategies. The Assistant Manager is expected to create a positive work environment and memorable experiences for customers while leading a skilled team.

Responsibilities

• Manage the entire operation of the restaurant during scheduled shifts.
• Strive for operational levels that meet or exceed customer expectations in quality, service, and atmosphere.
• Complete designated duties such as inventory control, ordering of products, and cash control.
• Ensure shift leads and crew are trained on all systems, routines, and food safety practices.
• Assist in executing the restaurant's business plan and optimizing sales and profit.
• Ensure customer service meets or exceeds company standards and address customer complaints promptly.
• Assist the GM with hiring, training, coaching, and developing team members.
• Maintain a safe and healthy facility environment by enforcing sanitation standards and procedures.
• Bring ideas to management for attracting new customers and increasing sales through marketing activities.

Requirements

• Minimum 1-3 years of high volume restaurant leadership experience.
• Previous quick service restaurant experience preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Proven track record of effectively managing costs and labor.
• Strong knowledge of safe food handling practices.
• Must be ServSafe certifiable.
