About the position

The Assistant Manager at Lane Bryant plays a crucial role in leading store operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, and fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment. This position involves managing financial objectives, talent management, and operational controls while acting as the Manager on Duty in the absence of a higher-level manager. The Assistant Manager is expected to embody the company's leadership principles and drive a high-performing culture within the store.

Responsibilities

  • Lead activities to achieve store goals including financial objectives and client service.
  • Support talent management processes including recruiting, hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Assist in creating a personalized onboarding experience for new associates.
  • Utilize continuous coaching to maximize the abilities of all associates and encourage their growth.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures at all times.
  • Represent Lane Bryant by adhering to dress guidelines and articulating current trends in client interactions.
  • Resolve customer concerns quickly and effectively, empowering the team to do the same.
  • Drive operational excellence and maintain visual merchandising standards.
  • Manage controllable expenses and promote health and safety within the store.
  • Foster a culture that embraces diversity and transparency.

Requirements

  • Strong communication, supervisory, and customer service skills.
  • 6 months to 1 year of specialty retail experience, preferably in a selling environment.
  • Prior management experience preferred.
  • Technology proficient with strong business acumen.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English; knowledge of other languages is desirable.
