About the position

As the Assistant Service Center Manager at Valvoline Instant Oil Change (VIOC), you will play a pivotal role in assisting in managing one of our nationwide service centers. This role focuses on delivering exceptional customer service while carrying out preventative maintenance on vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising and mentoring all Service Technicians
  • Providing service training to new Technicians
  • Helping the Service Center Manager to find solutions for customer service
  • Providing superior customer service leadership
  • Running inventory, scheduling, and payroll as business elements of the service center
  • Maintaining a clean, well-organized service center and facilitating a safe and secure working environment
  • Opening and/or closing the service center under the specific direction of the Service Center Manager
  • Performing vehicle inspections in required states
  • Troubleshooting fuel, ignition, and emissions control systems, using electronic testing equipment
  • Inspecting and testing new vehicles for damage and recording findings for necessary repairs
  • Testing electronic computer components in automobiles to ensure proper operation
  • Tuning automobile engines to ensure proper and efficient functioning
  • Installing or repairing air conditioners and servicing components, such as compressors, condensers, and controls
  • Repairing, replacing, or adjusting defective fuel filters
  • Checking air pressure in vehicle tires and levels of various fluids, adding as required
  • Rotating, testing, and repairing or replacing tires

Requirements

  • Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of cash, facility, and safety control policies and practices
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Pass Tech, Certified Tech, SR tech, and ASCM training classes to become an ASCM
