About the position

The Assistant Manager at SONIC Drive-In plays a vital role in the restaurant's operations, assisting the General Manager in managing daily activities, training staff, and ensuring a high-quality dining experience for guests. This position involves overseeing both front-of-house and kitchen staff, maintaining operational standards, and fostering a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the General Manager in the overall operation of the restaurant.
• Manage the front of the house, supervising servers, bartenders, and hostesses.
• Oversee kitchen staff to ensure food safety and quality standards are met.
• Develop and implement training programs for new hires and ongoing staff development.
• Monitor and control labor costs, inventory, and cash handling.
• Maintain a positive and productive work environment for staff.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers, vendors, and the local community.
• Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling, reporting, and payroll.
• Participate in planning and executing special events like catering and private parties.
• Ensure the restaurant is clean, organized, and visually appealing.

Requirements

• Minimum of six months of restaurant management experience (QSR) or one year entry-level retail management experience required.
• Effective communication skills; basic math, reading, and computer skills.
• Ability to follow directions and work autonomously once given directions.
• Ability to multi-task and successfully solve problems.
• Willingness to abide by appearance, uniform, and hygiene standards at SONIC.
