About the position

The Assistant Manager at Del Taco plays a crucial role in protecting and delivering the Del Taco brand while driving sales and maximizing restaurant efficiency and profitability. This position involves leading the team in alignment with the Del Taco Way, supporting the General Manager, and ensuring a high standard of service and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Restaurant Manager in staffing the restaurant with quality employees.
  • Recruit, hire, and retain restaurant employees in compliance with the employee position report.
  • Ensure the team is certified according to the current training process at all times.
  • Foster an environment of continuous learning and create a service-oriented culture.
  • Promote an environment of fun and teamwork among staff.
  • Evaluate performance and recommend salary increases for team members.
  • Administer disciplinary actions, including suspension and termination, as necessary.
  • Develop and grow team members' skills and capabilities.
  • Execute Del Taco standards and processes consistently.
  • Maintain the facility and customer areas to high standards.
  • Ensure all equipment meets operational and safety standards.
  • Deliver quality products to Del Taco standards every time.
  • Adhere to cleaning schedules and standards.
  • Ensure employees are in proper uniform and maintain a consistent service experience.
  • Manage POP and signage presence in approved locations.
  • Assist the Restaurant Manager in identifying and communicating sales goals.
  • Ensure staffing aligns with projected and actual sales.
  • Increase customer count and check average while maximizing capacity and customer value.
  • Support the General Manager in executing Local Store Marketing opportunities.
  • Stay aware of local events and understand the store's trade area and competition.
  • Execute speed and service standards effectively.
  • Flawlessly execute marketing promotions and campaigns.
  • Maintain staffing levels in accordance with actual sales.
  • Comply with labor laws and manage inventory to reduce waste.
  • Ensure cash handling procedures are followed and perform cash audits.
  • Execute safety and health standards and minimize costs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience in sales and restaurant management preferred.
