About the position
The Assistant Manager will support the General Manager in overseeing gym operations, ensuring a positive member experience and financial success for the club. This role involves leading a team, providing training and development, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for all members and guests.
Responsibilities
- Assist the General Manager in overseeing gym operations.
- Recruit, hire, train, and develop a high-performing team.
- Create and maintain a welcoming atmosphere for members and guests.
- Schedule team members and ensure all shifts are covered.
- Lead by example and maintain accountability for direct reports.
- Resolve team member issues or concerns.
- Handle front desk activities including member check-ins and sign-ups.
- Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of the facility.
- Manage marketing efforts and ensure team awareness of promotions.
- Authorize expenditures and refunds, and make daily bank deposits.
- Prepare HR-related forms and send to Corporate HR Team.
- Track statistics and reports on a regular basis.
Requirements
- Customer service background preferred.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- A passion for fitness and health.
- Upbeat and positive attitude.
- Punctuality and reliability is a must.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Strong listening and problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrate diplomacy in all interactions.
- High School diploma/GED equivalent preferred.
