About the position

The Assistant Manager at Culver's plays a crucial role in supporting the General Manager to maximize sales volume and profit margins while ensuring customer satisfaction. This position involves developing team members, maintaining operational standards, and fostering a positive work environment to ensure every guest leaves happy.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the general manager in increasing sales and net profit of the business.
  • Meet annual budget while ensuring the mission is attained.
  • Prepare and review daily summary and weekly operations reports.
  • Prepare team schedules and daily deployment sheets based on forecasts and labor budget.
  • Ensure proper portion control for all menu items.
  • Train and demonstrate food safety using Culver's Food Safety Plan.
  • Monitor and coach team on safety best practices related to the Culver's hazard communication program.
  • Recruit, hire, and terminate team members as necessary.
  • Provide ongoing training, development, and coaching to lead the team effectively.
  • Conduct quarterly performance appraisals of team members.
  • Assist the general manager with team meetings to develop team consistency in quality and guest service standards.
  • Maintain excellence in guest relations and follow up on guest comment cards promptly.
  • Run shifts to ensure quality product and prompt guest service.
  • Ensure equipment is effectively maintained and repaired.
  • Perform daily restaurant tours to monitor cleanliness and hospitality standards.
  • Check e-mail and extranet during each shift and respond as necessary.
  • Supervise the accurate completion of food inventory orders based on sales projections.
  • Ensure accurate completion of Quality Control/Safe Food Checklist and Product Rotation Reports.
  • Review food cost variance reports to identify areas for improvement.
  • Adjust daily deployment sheets to ensure team efficiency while maintaining labor costs.
  • Ensure active and ongoing community partnerships.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; college degree in hotel and restaurant management preferred.
  • Three years of experience in a supervisory position.
  • Certified from a national food safety program.
  • Ability to effectively organize work and communicate well.
  • Knowledgeable in all aspects of business with good judgment.
  • Self-starter with the ability to adjust to new ideas.
