About the position

The Assistant Manager at United Refining Company plays a crucial role in supporting the Store Manager in daily operations and ensuring the store runs smoothly. This position involves managing employee activities, providing customer service, and maintaining store standards while also being responsible for cash and inventory during the Store Manager's absence.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily activities of employees to improve sales performance.
• Assist in the training and motivation of all store personnel.
• Offer appropriate customer service and greet all customers with a smile.
• Suggest merchandise purchases to customers.
• Learn and operate the cash register and additional required equipment accurately.
• Price, stock, and face merchandise, including gondolas, shelving, and coolers.
• Manage product storage, maintenance, and rotation activities to avoid damage or spoilage.
• Maintain the store in accordance with maintenance policies and Health Department regulations.
• Follow and enforce all security and safety policies and procedures.
• Account for all shift and daily transactions.
• Present a neat and clean appearance and enforce the dress code.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager or District Manager.

Requirements

• Valid Driver's License
• Dependable, independent transportation that does not rely on a third party.
• A working phone number for communication with Store Management and Staff.
• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Prior convenience store experience is helpful but not required.
