About the position

The Assistant Mechanical Engineer will support project teams in creating innovative designs for various projects, including power, healthcare, and military facilities. This role involves assisting in the mechanical design process, modifying production drawings, and ensuring compliance with engineering standards under the supervision of a licensed professional engineer.

Responsibilities

• Assist project teams in creating mechanical designs for various projects.
• Modify and review production drawings for multiple facility types.
• Design mechanical components based on project requirements.
• Conduct research and compile project-related data as needed.
• Correct and update drawings provided by senior engineers.
• Assist in client presentations and contract administration.
• Perform field inspections and measurements for clients.
• Comply with all company policies and standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an ABET accredited program.
• Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical engineering techniques and principles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD.
• Basic skills in BIM (Revit), 3D Rendering Programs, hydraulic analysis, and HVAC analysis programs.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Prior internship or related consulting experience.
• Engineers in Training (EIT) Certification preferred.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 strongly preferred.
• Involvement on campus or in the community preferred.
