About the position
The Assistant Men's & Women's Alpine Ski Coach will support the head coach in all aspects of the ski program, including training, competition preparation, and athlete development. This temporary position requires a commitment to fostering a positive and competitive environment for student-athletes while adhering to the policies and regulations of the institution and governing bodies. The coach will assist in planning and executing training sessions, evaluating athlete performance, and providing feedback to enhance skills and techniques. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with other coaching staff and participating in recruitment efforts to attract talented athletes to the program.
Responsibilities
- Assist the head coach in planning and conducting training sessions.
- Evaluate athlete performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Support athletes during competitions and events.
- Collaborate with coaching staff on recruitment strategies.
- Ensure compliance with institutional and governing body regulations.
Requirements
- Experience in alpine skiing as a competitor or coach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Knowledge of training techniques and athlete development.
Nice-to-haves
- Previous coaching experience at the collegiate level.
- Certification in coaching or related field.
