The Assistant Merchant (Ecomm) at Under Armour plays a crucial role in supporting the regional merchandising strategies for the Footwear and Team Sports categories. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about product management and have a keen understanding of consumer needs and market dynamics. The Assistant Merchant will work closely with the Merchandising team to create a regional line plan that aligns with consumer preferences and regional market demands. This role requires a blend of analytical skills, creativity, and a strong understanding of the e-commerce landscape. In this position, the Assistant Merchant will be responsible for data entry support, ensuring that style-color directions are updated every season. They will operate and maintain merchandising systems, such as Trasix, to facilitate the business's operations. The role also involves supporting the Ecommerce Merchandising team in developing channel line plans that cater to consumer and regional requirements while ensuring alignment with financial targets and growth prospects. The Assistant Merchant will analyze, validate, and input slot/style information into channel line plan tools, and support weekly selling and business recaps across the e-commerce channel merchandising team. Additionally, the Assistant Merchant will assist in content creation for key Go-to-Market gates and conduct post-mortem analyses to track market shifts and evaluate performance across various metrics. This will enable the team to respond agilely to business trends and consumer demands. The role requires a proactive approach to support the Merchandising team with day-to-day tasks and special projects as needed, contributing to the overall success of the merchandising strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Provide data entry support with updating style-color direction every season.
  • Operate and maintain Merchandising systems (Trasix, etc.) for the business.
  • Support Ecommerce Merchandising team with the development of channel line plans to cater to consumer and regional requirements, ensuring alignment with financial targets and regional growth prospects.
  • Analyze, validate and input slot/style information in channel line plan tools.
  • Support weekly selling and business recapping across ecomm channel merchandising team.
  • Support Merchandising team with content creation for key Go-to-Market gates.
  • Support post-mortem analyses to track market shifts and evaluate performance across various metrics, enabling agile responses to business trends.
  • Provide support to the Merchandising team with day-to-day tasks and special projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with typically 2 years of related experience or Master's degree without experience or typically 6 years of relevant experience without degree.
  • Previous experience in Merchandising or Product Management, paired with a passion for identifying trends and better understanding the consumer.
  • DTC experience preferred.
  • Ability to translate regional insights and market information into actionable and informed recommendations.
  • Strong analytical skills and financial acumen; demonstrated by the ability to analyze and make recommendations that are consistent with the brand.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to indirectly influence a variety of job functions without having full ownership.

Nice-to-haves
