About the position

The Assistant Middle School Girls Wrestling Coach is responsible for instructing athletes in fundamental skills, strategies, and physical training necessary for individual and team success. The role emphasizes character development, self-discipline, and self-confidence among student-athletes while promoting a positive sports environment. The coach will also engage in continuous professional development through clinics and observations.

Responsibilities

  • Instruct athletes in fundamental skills and strategies for wrestling.
  • Demonstrate behaviors that promote character development and self-discipline.
  • Organize and supervise the sports program effectively.
  • Assist in coordinating off-season training programs.
  • Work with local recreation programs to enhance participation.
  • Serve as a positive role model for student-athletes.
  • Maintain reliable attendance during the season.

Requirements

  • Coaching endorsement or certification is required.
  • Thorough knowledge of athletic policies and technical aspects of wrestling.
  • Understanding of state and league regulations and their implementation.
  • Good communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to follow the administrative line of command for requests and grievances.

Benefits

  • Compensation of $2,340 for the coaching position.
