About the position

The Assistant Middle School Volleyball Coach is responsible for instructing athletes in fundamental skills, strategies, and physical training necessary for individual and team success. The role emphasizes character development, self-discipline, and self-confidence among student athletes while promoting a positive and supportive environment. The coach is expected to enhance their coaching knowledge through clinics and observations, and to organize and supervise the sports program effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Instruct athletes in fundamental skills and strategies for volleyball.
  • Demonstrate behaviors that promote character development and self-discipline.
  • Organize and supervise the sports program effectively.
  • Assist in coordinating off-season training programs.
  • Work with local recreation programs to increase participation.
  • Serve as a positive role model for student athletes.

Requirements

  • Coaching endorsement or certification is required.
  • Thorough knowledge of athletic policies and regulations.
  • Substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of volleyball.
