Responsibilities

  • Assist the Shift Miller in monitoring and inspecting product and equipment.
  • Identify different varieties of wheat and produce products to customer specifications.
  • Observe equipment operations to ensure smooth functioning and detect malfunctions.
  • Assist in resolving problems in the mills and perform maintenance on milling equipment.
  • Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance on milling equipment.
  • Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards.
  • Clean work areas and equipment, including lubricating machinery.
  • Confirm product mix and weight according to specifications.
  • Ensure timely transfer of finished products to load out.
  • Perform basic maintenance on cleaning house equipment.
  • Assist in the repair of milling equipment on designated repair days.
  • Maintain ingredient feeders and ensure uninterrupted wheat flow to the mill.
  • Blend finished products per customer specifications when required.
  • Conduct laboratory analysis and record results accurately.
  • Comply with test procedures and sample handling protocols.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Thorough knowledge of mill equipment and basic maintenance needs
  • Knowledge of different wheat varieties
  • Understanding of grain science and analytical procedures
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer usage
  • Ability to work with wheat products without sensitivity
  • Team-oriented mindset for plant success
