About the position

The Assistant National Sales Manager will play a crucial role in driving sales performance and supporting the sales team. This position requires a qualified sales professional with 2-5 years of experience, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to motivate others. The role involves managing outside rep groups, supporting key accounts, and facilitating marketing efforts, all while ensuring acute attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Manage outside rep groups and monitor their sales performance.
  • Hire, monitor, and fire sales groups as necessary.
  • Support in-person sales at shows and manage showroom samples.
  • Monitor displays at showrooms and update product files for rep ordering apps.
  • Present at annual sales meetings to share updates and strategies.
  • Field customer support calls, emails, and texts from individual sales reps.
  • Supply sales reps with necessary materials such as catalogs and samples.
  • Compile and maintain best-seller lists to guide sales efforts.
  • Create training programs and tools to enhance sales reps' performance.
  • Identify and regularly call on individual house accounts for support.
  • Manage customer service for house accounts to ensure satisfaction.
  • Reach out to key accounts with targeted sales strategies and presentations.
  • Negotiate terms and complete required paperwork for key accounts.
  • Communicate with the UK buying department to ensure timely delivery of products.
  • Plan and organize trade show layouts and logistics, including staffing and materials.
  • Set up, staff, and break down temporary trade shows, managing 2-5 per year.
  • Staff permanent showrooms during trade shows, typically 5-8 per year.
  • Follow up on sales leads generated from shows and events.
  • Create marketing specials for shows, reps, and house accounts.
  • Coordinate online promotions with the UK sales team and utilize social media for marketing efforts.
  • Share product ideas and feedback with the UK sales team for product range development.
  • Monitor prices and margins to ensure profitability and set trade prices biannually.
