About the position

The Principal Engineer - Network Assurance role is a contract position focused on managing and optimizing network operations for medium to large-scale enterprise contact center networks. The position requires extensive experience in IP network routing and switching, as well as expertise in various networking technologies. The engineer will be responsible for ensuring high availability and reliability of network services, troubleshooting issues, and providing mentorship to junior staff.

Responsibilities

  • Tier-3 Network Operations for medium/large scale enterprise contact center networks.
  • Manage and maintain Cisco routing and switching solutions across multiple datacenters.
  • Operate and manage F5 load balancers and ACME SBCs.
  • Optimize network performance and availability, including operational incident management.
  • Review ACL list/Firewall changes and collaborate with the Security team for execution.
  • Troubleshoot network performance issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Apply patches to devices for firmware and OS upgrades.
  • Analyze network capacity to anticipate future needs.
  • Develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and runbooks.
  • Operate within a structured change management model.
  • Support and implement changes during scheduled maintenance windows outside of regular hours.
  • Plan, test, and implement network changes.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Adhere to established policies and procedures and recommend new policies as needed.
  • Work closely with others to support projects and resolve escalated issues.
  • Engage circuit repair teams as required to resolve connectivity issues.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior network engineers and staff.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technology.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in IP Network routing and switching, Cisco ACI, ACME SBC, Voice Networking, and F5 Load balancing.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is desired.
  • CCNA certification is required; CCIE-level certification is valued.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Palo Alto Firewalls and Juniper equipment.
  • General infrastructure support in a highly available, multi-datacenter environment.
