The Community Living Center Assistant Nurse Manager is a vital role within the Department of Veterans Affairs, specifically accountable to the Chief Nurse of Extended Care. This position requires a registered professional nurse who collaborates closely with the Nurse Manager to oversee the operations of the Community Living Center. The Assistant Nurse Manager is responsible for the management, supervision, and evaluation of care delivered by nursing and allied care staff, ensuring that high standards of care are maintained at all times. This role is essential in fostering a supportive environment for both staff and patients, promoting a culture of accountability and high-quality, cost-efficient outcomes. In this position, the Assistant Nurse Manager will support the Nurse Manager with various supervisory duties, which include providing coverage for other Assistant Nurse Managers as needed. A significant aspect of this role involves the supervision of specific orientation, training, and staff development initiatives. The Assistant Nurse Manager will equip staff with the necessary tools to deliver culturally competent care, thereby enhancing the overall patient experience. Additionally, the role may involve other duties as assigned, which contribute to the smooth operation of the Community Living Center.
