About the position
The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) in the Emergency Department at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center plays a crucial role in supporting the nurse manager/director in the planning, organization, direction, and evaluation of unit services. This position is integral to maintaining high standards of patient care in a high-volume, state-of-the-art emergency department recognized for its exceptional performance. The ANM will collaborate with the management team to ensure effective staffing and management of the unit, contributing to a culture of patient-focused care and professional development.
Responsibilities
- Assist the nurse manager/director in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating services of the unit.
- Collaborate with the nurse manager/director to manage staffing and operational needs of the unit.
- Support nurses in advancing their degrees and obtaining specialty certifications.
- Promote a collaborative and team-oriented environment within the Emergency Department.
- Drive practice changes through Shared Governance initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or a Bachelor's Degree completed within 3 years of accepting the position.
- California Registered Nurse License upon hire.
- National Provider BLS Certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.
- National California Fire and Life Safety Card within 30 days of hire.
- 3 years of recent clinical experience in an acute care hospital (preferred).
- Charge Nurse/Relief Charge Nurse experience (preferred).
- Leadership experience (preferred).
- Shared Governance experience (preferred).
