About the position

Baptist Health is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager for the Heart Hospital Cardiac PCU Team at Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville. This full-time position is specifically for the night shift, providing an opportunity to lead and support nursing staff in delivering high-quality patient care. The Assistant Nurse Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing the nursing care provided to patients on the unit, ensuring that all assessments and reassessments of unit function are conducted effectively. This position serves as a vital liaison between staff, physicians, and other departments, facilitating communication and collaboration to enhance patient outcomes. In this role, the Assistant Nurse Manager will be responsible for mentoring staff members, fostering their professional growth, and providing constructive feedback. The position also involves monitoring and adjusting manhours in accordance with the unit's budget, ensuring that staffing levels are appropriate for the needs of the patients. Additionally, the Assistant Nurse Manager will assist the unit manager with disciplinary issues and participate in conducting annual performance reviews, contributing to the overall management and development of the nursing team. This position offers a competitive salary range of $86,600 to $110,000 annually, along with an $8,500 sign-on bonus. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing leadership, particularly in a medical-surgical or telemetry setting, and will be committed to maintaining high standards of patient care and staff support.

Responsibilities

  • Providing nursing care to patients on the unit.
  • Assessing and reassessing unit function; serving as a liaison for staff, physicians, and other departments.
  • Providing resources for staff members and mentoring their growth.
  • Monitoring and adjusting manhours in accordance with the unit budget.
  • Assisting the manager with disciplinary issues and annual performance reviews.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) required.
  • 3-5 years of medical-surgical experience required.
  • Leadership experience in a nursing context required.
  • Telemetry experience required.
  • Charge nurse experience required.
