About the position

The Assistant Nurse Manager at Penn Medicine is responsible for supporting the clinical operations of a home care team, ensuring high-quality patient care, and assisting nursing leadership. This role involves overseeing clinical staff, participating in quality and regulatory activities, and managing day-to-day operations related to patient care. The Assistant Nurse Manager also has administrative on-call duties and plays a key role in staff training, development, and patient satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Oversee clinical staff in case management and direct clinical care.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and review new products and services.
• Coordinate orientation activities between the team and nurse education.
• Complete routine and crisis communication throughout the department.
• Establish improvement priorities and sponsor improvement activities.
• Ensure staffing and scheduling provide safe and effective care.
• Participate in staff selection, career development, and performance reviews.
• Address performance issues and coach staff to improve service skills.
• Implement best practices for sustained performance improvements.
• Monitor quality data and assist in creating action plans to meet quality goals.
• Provide patient care/case management to a small group of patients.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse - NJ (Required)
• Eligible for professional license in Pennsylvania within 90 days of hire.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification (Required)
• Oncology Certified RN (Required)
• Certified RN Infusion (Required)
• Driver's License (Required)
• Car Insurance (Required)
• Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required)
• 2+ years of progressive nursing experience in home care or home infusion (Required)

Nice-to-haves

• 2+ years of leadership experience in home care or home infusion setting (Preferred)
