About the position

The Assistant Operations Manager at UCLA Health will play a crucial role in overseeing the administrative functions of the Santa Monica Security Services department. This position involves strategic planning, program development, and budget administration, ensuring that security operations align with the overall goals of the healthcare facility. The Assistant Operations Manager will also act as the Operations Manager in their absence, demonstrating leadership and problem-solving skills to maintain effective security operations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee department administrative issues including strategic planning and goal setting.
  • Develop and implement programs related to security services.
  • Administer the budget for the security department.
  • Act as Operations Manager in the absence of the Operations Manager.
  • Conduct continuous reviews of goal attainment with the Director of Security Services.
  • Demonstrate initiative and resourceful problem-solving abilities in achieving departmental goals.

Requirements

  • 5 years of prior healthcare security supervisory experience.
  • Current certification in a California Guard Card and D.O.J. Chemical Agent.
  • BLS Certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Experience in developing policies and procedures.
  • Experience in evaluating and training security officers.
  • Experience working with regulatory agencies such as JCAHO, CDPH, and CMS.
  • Security investigative experience.
