About the position

The Assistant Operations Manager at MetroShoe Warehouse's Fulfillment Center is a leadership role responsible for overseeing operational duties to ensure the efficient flow of work. This position requires flexibility in scheduling, including nights, weekends, and holidays, particularly during high-volume periods. The AOM will work closely with the team, enforce company policies, and facilitate training and development of staff.

Responsibilities

  • Daily distribution of inventory to store locations based on inventory replenishment reports.
  • Daily distribution of inventory to Amazon Fulfillment centers based on inventory replenishment reports.
  • Accurately receive incoming goods from vendors and report shortage issues and discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Properly document shortages and discrepancies at the time of receiving.
  • Understand the functionality of the company WMS/binning system for inventory transactions.
  • Sort and distribute incoming/outgoing freight.
  • Oversee shipping duties assigned to the Fulfillment Center based on online orders.
  • Organize and distribute store supplies and handle reordering based on quantity reports.
  • Properly use company vehicle when needed.
  • Assist in loading and unloading inventory.
  • Identify and communicate continuous improvement ideas related to inventory processes.
  • Facilitate safety training and awareness to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Prepare weekly schedules and assist in hiring and coaching Fulfillment Center staff.
  • Manage employee records, payroll information, and facilitate onboarding processes.
  • Recruit and retain Fulfillment Center staff.
  • Perform weekly reporting to determine staff efficiencies and labor hour requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong physical abilities (standing, pushing, pulling, climbing ladders for long periods).
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Strong computer, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong personality and leadership skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Good driving record.
