About the position

The Georgetown University Department of Biochemistry and Molecular and Cellular Biology is seeking a full-time Assistant or Associate Professor on the Medical Educator Track with expertise in mammalian endocrinology. This role involves teaching medical and graduate students, primarily in their first year, and will require in-person instruction at both the Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington, DC, and the George Mason University campus in Manassas, VA. The position is expected to evolve to include course co-directorship and opportunities for educational scholarship.

Responsibilities

  • Teach medical and graduate students in their first year.
  • Engage in in-person teaching at Georgetown University Medical Center and George Mason University campus.
  • Contribute to the School of Medicine curriculum and multiple graduate programs.
  • Potentially expand teaching portfolio to include course co-directorship and additional subjects.
  • Participate in educational scholarship.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. or terminal degree in Physiology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, or a related subject.
  • Completion of degree by the time of starting the position.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior teaching experience is desirable but not essential.
