About the position

The University of California, Riverside (UCR) is seeking a full-time, tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor of Critical Quantitative Research. This position aims to advance critical quantitative methods in education, focusing on issues of power, oppression, and equity. The successful candidate will contribute to the School of Education's mission of serving a diverse student body and will be expected to teach and mentor both undergraduate and graduate students, particularly those from historically marginalized communities.

Responsibilities

  • Teach master's and doctoral students in critical quantitative research methods.
  • Contribute to the undergraduate major in education.
  • Engage in high-impact research and scholarly publications.
  • Seek external research funding to support research initiatives.
  • Advise and support dissertations using critical quantitative methods.
  • Participate in service activities that promote equity and inclusion within the School of Education.

Requirements

  • An earned doctorate in Education, Higher Education, Quantitative Methods, or related fields with a specialization in Education.
  • A successful record of high impact research and scholarly publications (for Associate level).
  • Established record of external research funding (for Associate level).
  • Evidence of effective teaching and advising of historically underrepresented undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Capacity to support and guide dissertations using critical quantitative methods.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of PK-16 educational equity issues.

Nice-to-haves

  • Capacity to support the development of a new quantitative methods series.
  • Capacity to teach quantitative methods courses at the graduate level.
  • Contributions addressing the needs of California's diverse population.
  • Racial literacies in advancing educational and racial justice.
