About the position

The Assistant or Associate Professor of Education is a full-time tenure-line faculty position at Penn State Harrisburg, beginning in Fall 2025. This role involves teaching, research, and service within the School of Behavioral Sciences and Education, with a focus on creating an inclusive learning environment and engaging in collaborative research efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Teach three courses per semester, including undergraduate and graduate courses.
  • Participate in academic advising and recruitment efforts.
  • Supervise candidates in field/student teaching experiences.
  • Engage in scholarly activities and obtain external funding for research.
  • Provide service across the College and University, promoting DEIB goals.

Requirements

  • An earned doctorate in education, curriculum and instruction, or a related field.
  • A strong record of teaching STEM at the 4-8 and/or secondary levels or in STEM education.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of assessment, data literacy, and digital and media literacies/multimodalities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in special education.
  • Evidence of growth in scholarly achievement for Assistant Professor candidates.
  • A clear program of research and publication record for Associate Professor candidates.
