About the position
Roanoke College invites applications for a tenure-track position in Engineering Science, at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor, starting in August 2025. The Engineering Science major is an exciting new addition to the College. We seek a candidate with energetic vision, creative thought, and collaborative spirit. Responsibilities
- Teach a wide range of undergraduate science and engineering-related courses in a liberal arts setting.
- Mentor a variety of experiential learning opportunities.
- Support efforts towards ABET accreditation.
- Develop new civil engineering courses.
Requirements
- A Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, Engineering Education, or a closely-related field is preferred.
- A Master's Degree or higher with relevant professional experience is required.
- Evidence of highly effective classroom teaching or potential of such is required.
Nice-to-haves
- Strong interest in mentoring under-represented students.
- Interest in diversifying curricular offerings.
- Experience sponsoring diverse community engagement.
