About the position
The Assistant or Associate Professor of Nursing at Ball State University is a full-time, tenure-line faculty position based on the Muncie campus, starting in August 2025. The role involves teaching undergraduate and/or graduate nursing courses, engaging in scholarly work, and participating in service activities within the community. The faculty member is expected to foster an inclusive and innovative learning environment, contribute to the university's mission of educational excellence, and support the development of students and faculty alike.
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and/or graduate nursing courses on campus.
- Engage in scholarly work and research in the field of nursing.
- Participate in service activities that benefit the community and the university.
- Collaborate with diverse faculty, staff, and students to enhance the educational experience.
- Integrate technology into nursing education and teaching practices.
Requirements
- Earned baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university.
- Earned master's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university.
- Earned doctorate in nursing or a related field from an accredited institution by date of appointment.
- Clinical nursing experience in area of assigned teaching.
- Six months of nursing practice experience in the U.S.
- Ability to meet deadlines, communicate effectively, and work collaboratively with diverse faculty, staff, and students.
- Ability to learn and use new technologies, software, and platforms.
Nice-to-haves
- At least one semester (four months) of teaching experience in higher education.
- Ability to integrate technology in nursing education.
- Current clinical practice as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) and national board certification.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and/or maintain a program of research.
