About the position

Riverstone Logistics (RLX) is dedicated to being a reliable freight forwarding partner, focused on delivering exceptional customer experiences through final mile deliveries across the United States. The Assistant Outbound Manager plays a crucial role in managing and coordinating outbound logistics at a specific client location. This position works closely with the Outbound Manager to develop and implement policies and procedures that ensure efficient operations and compliance with various regulations. The Assistant Outbound Manager is responsible for overseeing daily outbound operations, ensuring that all activities align with company standards and client expectations. In this role, the Assistant Outbound Manager will supervise personnel, allocate work, provide training, and resolve any issues that arise. They will also conduct operational analyses and audits to monitor and improve the efficiency of operations. Daily stand-up meetings with key stakeholders will be held to discuss location statistics and operational updates. The Assistant Outbound Manager will assist in recruiting additional motor carriers and represent the organization at community and business meetings in the absence of the Outbound Manager. This position requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to foster a cooperative work environment. The Assistant Outbound Manager will oversee up to five direct reports and will be involved in various aspects of logistics management, including employee development and motor carrier development. The role may also require extended work hours and travel, depending on operational needs. Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the daily outbound operations of a location and its various components, ensuring compliance with Company, client, local, state, and Federal policies and regulations.
  • Developing or assisting with the development and implementation of policies and procedures consistent with those of the organization to ensure efficient and safe operation of the location.
  • Overseeing the supervision of personnel including work allocation, training, and problem resolution; evaluating performance and making recommendations for personnel actions; motivating employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.
  • Holding daily stand-up meetings with key stakeholders when Outbound Manager is off.
  • Interpreting and sharing location statistics with key stakeholders.
  • Working with Outbound Manager to recruit additional Motor Carriers to serve any company locations; specifically domiciled location.
  • Providing advice and assistance to top management in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of modifications to existing operations, systems, and procedures.
  • Representing the organization at various community and/or business meetings when Outbound Manager is off.
  • Overseeing the supervision of up to 5 direct reports within a location.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in logistics, supply chain, or comparable work-related experience.
  • Knowledge of organizational structure, workflow, and operating procedures.
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation, standards, policies, and procedures within specialty area.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Strong presentation skills to engage with motor carriers, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Skill in examining operational procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
  • Employee development skills.
  • Motor Carrier development skills.
  • Ability to supervise and train employees including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.

Nice-to-haves
