About the position

The Assistant Outreach Program Manager at Carnegie Mellon University plays a crucial role in supporting the CS Pathways initiative, which aims to create equitable pathways for students to study computer science. This position involves collaborating with community partners, managing program logistics, and assisting in the delivery of educational programs. Responsibilities

  • Assist with the delivery of programs under the direction of the CS Pathways Executive Director or a Program Director.
  • Identify communities that CS Pathways can partner with in the greater Pittsburgh region and build authentic relationships with community partners.
  • Manage event or program logistics.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to review and implement curriculum.
  • Co-train STEM Ambassadors on provided curriculum prior to program start.
  • Visit local partner sites to learn about their needs and gather feedback for program improvement.
  • Help with data collection and evaluation.
  • Act as an ambassador for CS Pathways in the community, including attending college fairs and career events.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience developing and implementing project plans.
  • Passion for increasing educational access, especially to computer science.
  • Public speaking/facilitation skills.
  • Successful background check.
  • Ability to obtain Pennsylvania Act 153 clearances.
