About the position

As a Personal Training Leader at Life Time, you will play a pivotal role in leading and developing a team of Fitness Professionals, ensuring they have successful careers within the organization. Your primary responsibility will be to embody and promote the Life Time Training brand and philosophy, creating exceptional experiences for both clients and team members. You will oversee the fitness floor, delivering the best Dynamic Personal Training experience while managing your own client base. This position requires you to conduct one-on-one sessions with team members, assist in onboarding new hires, and coach live client and member experience sessions. You will also be involved in the sales process, educating team members on all products and services, and helping your team achieve their personal financial goals as well as those of the division. In this leadership role, you will manage, support, and mentor a team of fitness professionals, ensuring they meet brand and performance expectations. This includes taking necessary disciplinary actions when required. You will be responsible for the overall experience and results of all clients, setting an example as a Player-Coach by actively participating in Dynamic Personal Training. Your leadership will extend to overseeing the quality and consistency of services, programs, and the fitness floor experience, while also implementing strategies to help the personal training team meet their productivity goals. Additionally, you will generate new clients and ensure that team members possess the necessary skills to meet member needs effectively. You will also promote and execute Life Time Training initiatives, manage scheduling and administrative tasks for various programs, and contribute to department-wide meetings to drive success across the team. This role is essential in fostering a supportive and productive environment that empowers both clients and fitness professionals to thrive.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, support, develop, coach, and mentor a team of fitness professionals to meet brand and performance expectations.
  • Be a Player-Coach by setting an example through Dynamic Personal Training and managing your own individual book of business.
  • Oversee the quality and consistency of products, services, programs, and fitness floor experience for the fitness professional team.
  • Determine and implement strategies to ensure the personal training team meets their productivity goals.
  • Generate new clients and refer them to appropriate fitness professionals based on client needs.
  • Promote and direct the execution of Life Time Training initiatives such as 60 Day and other special events.
  • Complete and support all scheduling, administrative, and coordination tasks for all programs and classes.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Certified Personal Trainer
  • CPR and AED Certified
  • 2+ years of personal training experience
  • Demonstrated Leadership / Management Skills
  • Strong communication, sales, program design, and coaching skills
  • Ability to drive results through others

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in kinesiology, sports medicine, or a related field
  • Experience in delivery and overall knowledge of virtual training methodology
  • Demonstrated success in increasing client acquisition and retention
  • Ability to manage multiple fitness professionals to a successful outcome
  • Expertise in Life Time business applications (Exerp, Workday, Domo, etc.)
