About the position

As an Assistant Planner at Freeport-McMoRan, you will play a crucial role in supporting the area Planners in all aspects of job preparation, execution, and follow-up, adhering to the company's high standards. This position requires a hands-on approach, including time spent in the field to ensure the readiness and availability of materials and equipment resources necessary for operations. You will maintain a comprehensive history of all assigned activities within the management system, ensuring that all data is accurate and up-to-date. You will work closely with the Equipment Reliability Standards (ERS) team, interacting with Planners to maintain and monitor planned schedules for assigned activities. Your participation in daily, weekly, and monthly planning meetings with key stakeholders will be essential for reviewing, prioritizing, and scheduling work orders effectively. Additionally, you will assist in maintaining the integrity of data in the maintenance management system (SAP), which is critical for operational efficiency. In this role, you will also assist Planners in organizing and planning for major production shutdowns, generating regular and ad hoc reports, and engaging with the onsite Global Supply Chain to manage warehouse inventory levels and storage conditions for materials and parts. You will be responsible for monitoring and adjusting schedules for assigned activities, ensuring that they are accurately reflected in the management system. Furthermore, you will organize data to support maintenance management decisions, including departmental budgets and weekly forecasting, while performing other duties as needed to support the team.

Responsibilities

  • Support the area Planners in job preparation, execution, and follow-up according to Freeport-McMoRan standards.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED and two (2) years related experience in supporting field maintenance or operations department within a mining/mfg environment, OR
  • Associate's degree in applicable field.
