About the position

At Freeport-McMoRan, we are committed to providing an employment package that recognizes excellence, encourages safe production, and fosters a culture supported by our core values. Our rod and refining plant in El Paso, Texas, plays a crucial role in our operations, contributing significantly to our status as one of the world's largest manufacturers of continuous cast copper rod, a primary material used in the production of wire and cable products. The refinery has the capacity to operate at an annual production level of approximately 900 million pounds of copper cathode, which is sufficient to refine all the copper anode produced at our Miami operations in Arizona. Additionally, the refinery produces nickel carbonate, copper telluride, and autoclaved slimes material containing precious metals such as gold, silver, platinum, and palladium. In this role, you will support the area Planners in all aspects of job preparation, execution, and follow-up as prescribed by Freeport-McMoRan standards. This includes spending time in the field to ensure the readiness and availability of materials and equipment resources. You will maintain a history for all assigned activities in the management system and closely interact with the Planners to maintain and monitor planned schedules for assigned activities. Your responsibilities will also include attending daily, weekly, and monthly planning meetings with key stakeholders, reviewing, prioritizing, and scheduling work orders, and assisting in maintaining the integrity of data in the maintenance management system (SAP). You will assist Planners in organizing for planned major production shutdowns, generate regular and ad hoc reports, and engage with onsite Global Supply Chain to control warehouse minimum/maximum levels and appropriate storage conditions of materials and parts. Additionally, you will be responsible for organizing data to support maintenance management decisions, including departmental budgets and weekly forecasting, and performing other duties as needed.
