The Assistant Plant Manager at Sullivan Precision Plate is a key functional role that reports directly to the Plant Manager. This position is responsible for overseeing manufacturing operations, managing the master production schedule, and ensuring efficient production processes while maintaining high-quality standards. The role requires strong coordination and communication with the sales department and shop personnel, as well as tactical decision-making and process improvement recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily plant operations to ensure production targets are met while maintaining quality standards.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies that align with company goals and objectives.
  • Manage and lead a team of employees, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Monitor production processes to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Conduct regular quality control inspections to ensure products meet specifications.
  • Utilize lean manufacturing techniques to streamline operations and eliminate waste.
