About the position

The Assistant Pool Manager at the City of Crystal, MN, plays a crucial role in overseeing pool operations in the absence of the Pool Manager. This position involves enforcing safety regulations, managing staff schedules, and ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for patrons. The Assistant Pool Manager is also responsible for maintaining pool sanitation and conducting safety inspections.

Responsibilities

• Act as Pool Manager in the absence of the Manager.
• Assist in setting up and enforcing staff policies and safety rules.
• Assist in staff scheduling and selection.
• Maintain sanitation of the pool and pool area in collaboration with Public Works.
• Supervise part-time employees.
• Monitor patrons to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment.
• Keep records of water samples and pool data, as well as safety inspections of the pool facilities and equipment.
• Recommend maintenance and chemical re-ordering based on inspections.

Requirements

• Minimum age of 21.
• American Red Cross Certified in First Aid, CPR, Lifeguard, and Water Safety Instructor.
• Management experience preferred.
• Ability to assess problems and situations, anticipate needs, and evaluate alternatives.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of pool maintenance and safety regulations.
• Experience in staff training and performance evaluation.
