About the position

The Assistant Portfolio Manager position is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to advance their careers in property management. This role involves working under the supervision of the Portfolio Manager to ensure the efficient and profitable operation of residential properties. The position emphasizes tenant relations, compliance with legal requirements, and effective communication with clients and team members.

Responsibilities

• Monitor tenant charges and delinquencies daily and implement collection strategies under the supervision of the Portfolio Manager.
• Manage tenant relations and ensure that any issues or concerns are addressed in a timely manner.
• Draft letters and Notices pertinent to each property's safe, habitable, and quiet operation.
• Issue Notices pertinent to each tenancy, such as Rent Increase Notices and Notices to Perform or Quit.
• Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements for each property in collaboration with insurance brokers, clients, and other team members.
• Communicate problems and solutions to clients as directed, provide financial reports to clients as requested, and collaborate with team members to ensure excellent customer service.
• Participate in webinars and courses pertinent to Landlord-Tenant Laws, Best Practices, and Industry Trends.

Requirements

• At least two (2) years of recent experience in Multifamily Residential Property Management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized with great attention to detail and forethought.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and Excel.
• A working knowledge of Appfolio or Yardi is a must.

Nice-to-haves

• Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are a plus.
