About the position

The Assistant Preschool Teacher at Kids R Kids Learning Academy is responsible for creating a nurturing and educational environment for young children. This role involves supporting the lead teacher in implementing the curriculum, ensuring the emotional and physical needs of the children are met, and maintaining a clean and organized classroom. The position emphasizes the importance of communication with parents and staff, as well as ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a classroom environment that facilitates children's development.
• Enrich the classroom with teacher-made materials and exhibits of child artwork.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and well-organized classroom.
• Implement curriculum and ensure good communication skills are practiced.
• Plan and execute indoor and outdoor experiences appropriate for children's developmental levels.
• Interact with children both physically and verbally throughout the day.
• Assist children with personal hygiene and potty training as necessary.
• Serve and eat meals with the children.
• Meet with parents, staff, and administration to discuss children's progress.
• Attend in-service and staff development training programs.

Requirements

• Previous experience in childcare, teaching, or related fields.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• CPR and First Aid certification (can be fulfilled upon hire).
• Ability to build rapport with children.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Positive and patient demeanor.
• Physical ability to keep up with active children, including lifting and sitting on the floor.
