About the position

The Assistant Preschool Teacher at Acelero Learning plays a crucial role in supporting early childhood education programs, focusing on creating positive outcomes for children and families. This position involves collaborating with the Preschool Teacher to manage a Head Start classroom for children aged 3-5, implementing a child-centered curriculum, and fostering a supportive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Implements a child-centered curriculum and learning environment that encourages positive social interaction, active engagement in learning, and self-motivation.
• Supports the social and emotional development of children.
• Addresses challenging behaviors by observing to determine possible causes, implementing preventive measures, and teaching new social and communication skills.
• Gathers and maintains individual, family, and classroom data for documentation, assessment, evaluation, and record-keeping.
• Creates partnerships and encourages family involvement in the Head Start program.
• Works with Family Advocates to ensure coordinated services meet the needs of individual children and families.

Requirements

• Bilingual (preferred for higher pay rate)
• Bachelor's degree or CDA credential or state-awarded certificate that meets or exceeds CDA requirements, or willingness to enroll in a CDA program within one year of hire.
• Classroom experience with children.
• Strong communication skills.
• Commitment and passion to work with children.
