About the position

The Assistant Product Designer for Accessories at Disney Consumer Products plays a crucial role in supporting the design and development of various accessory products. This entry-level position involves collaborating with multiple teams to create high-quality, consumer-focused products that align with market trends and brand values. The designer will manage specific projects and contribute to the overall product line, ensuring that all items meet financial targets and brand equity standards.

Responsibilities

• Support product design team with concept, design, sketch, and prototypes.
• Assist in design presentation deliverables including room setup, product mock-ups, and line review decks.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to assist product team with design and approval of all products.
• Coordinate product submissions for creative reviews and approvals with the design team.
• Organize and maintain product and market samples.
• Manage product design inputs for packaging submissions.
• Assist design team with PLM system and design development tools.
• Monitor competitors, product innovation, and market dynamics.
• Research initial seasonal trends by category.
• Multi-task and prioritize multiple design projects within timelines.

Requirements

• Entry-level related experience in product design.
• Knowledge in hardlines/softlines categories such as raw materials, textiles, and manufacturing.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to explain a point of view clearly and positively while being open to feedback.
• Strong product design skills including technical design and sketching.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Highly motivated problem solver with attention to detail.
• Bachelor's Degree in a related field such as industrial design or fashion design.
