About the position

The Assistant Product Designer at Disney Consumer Products will support the accessories design team in developing high-quality, consumer-focused products that align with market trends. This role involves managing specific projects and ensuring that products meet brand standards and financial targets. The position requires collaboration with various internal and external partners to deliver innovative products across multiple distribution channels.

Responsibilities

• Support product design team with concept, design, sketches, and prototypes.
• Assist in design presentation deliverables including room setup, product mock-ups, and line review decks.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners for design and approval of products.
• Coordinate product submissions for creative reviews and approvals with the design team.
• Organize and maintain product and market samples.
• Manage product design inputs for packaging submissions.
• Assist design team with PLM system and design development tools.
• Monitor competitors, product innovation, and market dynamics.
• Research initial seasonal trends by category.
• Multi-task and prioritize multiple design projects within timelines.

Requirements

• Entry-level related experience in product design.
• Knowledge in hardlines/softlines categories such as raw materials, textiles, and manufacturing.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to explain points of view clearly and receive constructive feedback.
• Strong product design skills including technical design and sketching.
• Demonstrated computer software skills in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Highly motivated problem solver with attention to detail.
